Founded in 1742 by Anders Koskull and Georg Bogislaus Stael Von Holstei, Kosta Boda is the oldest glass factory of Sweden. It is part of Orrefors Kosta Boda AB group, scandinavian major specialist wich unites cristal manufactures from Orrefors, Kosta Boda and Äfors villages.
Kosta Boda is proposing creations made of glass with high standards and quality, from fonctional pieces such as plates, salad bowls, bottles and glasses to purely artistic ones, mostly with a serie of decorative tealights and vases.
If Kosta Boda succeeded in dinstinguishing itself from others competitors it is mostly by hiring its own designers, frequently great artists from the contemporary art scene. Between those, the company produces creations from Anna Ehrner with the Contrastant salad bowl made of blown glass and the colourful Atoll tealights, from Ulrica Hydman-Vallien with her salad bowls and Mine glasses with an irregular design or Bertil Vallien and Gören Wärff with his famous Primavera vases and bowls.
