It was during a trip to Egypt that Ole Wanscher discovered the beautiful furniture of ancient Thebes which inspired him to design his famous Egyptian Chair. The chairs of the Egyptian empire were symbols of power and grace, and Ole Wanscher managed to recreate these same qualities in his lightweight and elegant stool.
First produced in 1957 until 1970, the stool was put back into production in 2000, much to the delight of the nostalgic.
The seat, made out of leather, is robust and comfortable, and the solidity of the structure guarantees the chair will last in time.
