The Chinese bench by Hans Wegner was initially designed for Fritz Hansen in 1946.
The structure of the bench is an exact imitation and extension of that of the Chinese chairs PH56 and PH 66 by the same designer. The length of the seat, made entirely out of wood and without reinforcement made the construction process very complicated, and production on a large scale was only made possible thanks to the development of a new pre-compression technique.
Also available in oiled ash, white oiled ash, lacquered or black lacquered.
