Design Poul Kjaerholm, 1965

The PK24 longge chair is perhaps the most recognizable chair in Poul Kjaerholm's work with his PK22 armchair. The designer was inspired by the Rococo period and the French chaise longue to create the PK24 with its elegant and organic curves.

Design Poul Kjaerholm, 1965

The PK24 longue chair is perhaps the most recognizable chair in Poul Kjaerholm's work with his PK22 armchair. The designer was inspired by the Rococo period and the French chaise longue to create the PK24 with its elegant and organic curves. We also see the incredible work of Poul Kjaerholm who built the chair with two independent elements, the chair having no physical connection with its main parts. The seat seems to float above its support. Kjærholm also described the PK24 as a "hammock chair" to stress that the chair functioned by suspending the body between two points.
