True icon of danish design, the Swan lounge chair together with the swan sofa was originally created by the designer Arne Jacbsen for the lobby and lounge of the innovative SAS Hotel in Copenhagen. It was conceived between other furnitures who would become for most icons as well. The designer wanted to create with those a "modern garden", therefore the Swan sof has round shapes and soft organic curves.

Its sculptural aesthetic is nonetheless associated to a great fonctionnality. Its shell is made of polyurethane with fiberglass reinforcement covered by foam, its base consists of a satin chromed swivel center part (dia. 38x2 mm) of welded steel tubing and a 4-star base in injection molded aluminium.The individual parts are welded and surface treated with matt zinc.
