Design Christian Dell, 1931
The Kaiser Idell Luxus floor lamp was created by the silversmith and designer Christian Dell, wich had been foreman at Bahaus metal workshop earlier in the 20's, a collaboration with the lightings manufacturer Gebrüder Kaiser.
Kaiser Idell was produced in a large number, and then brought up to date in the 60's, it has since become an icon of lightingand design embodying the best of the Bahaus design, it is reedited by the danish editor Fritz Hansen.
Kaiser Idell has a worldwide patented swivel joint and a caracteristic dome embossed wich distinguishes Kaiser Idell between all other lightings, it is made of a very high qualility and hand painted steel. The chrome plated elements made of solid silver and brass are also hand painted.
The Kaiser Idell serie is also made up of pendants, table lamps and wall lamps wich are offered in various shades in a high glossy hpl finish or a mat black one.
