The pendant VL45 Radiohus was designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984), one of the most important Danish architects at the head of functionalism. In partnership with Louis Poulsen, the pendant was designed for the construction of the Radiohuset building on Frederiksberg in Copenhagen, now home to the Royal Danish Academy of Music.

The Radiohus Pendant consists of three layers of mouth-blown glass. The innermost and outermost layers are made of transparent polished glass, while white glass is used for the intermediate layer. Its pendant tube is made of brushed brass. It allows a homogeneous and diffuse light. The opening of the lower part of the glass directs the light downwards. It is suitable for top and bottom mounting.
