SINUS PENDANT

Design Piet Hein, 1967

The Sinus lamp is the epitome of clean, Scandinavian lines, from the Golden Age of Danish Design. Created in 1967, it has been produced only since 1995, for Piet Hein’s 90th birthday.

Sinus is made of frosted white opal glass and manufactured of the highest quality. The Sinus lamp exists as pendant in three sizes : diam. 33, 44 and 55 cm. The large model is perfect above any dining or meeting table while the small Sinus will find a place above a coffee table, in the kitchen or other places to emphasise the decor.

The super elliptic inner screen ensures perfect light, while the Sinus shade stands as a almost hovering sculptural form in space. The curved forms of the lamp ensure that the light is bright precisely where it is needed, but not dazzling in the direction of the eye.
Piet Hein took the sine wave as his inspiration, a mathematically harmonious form representing an ideal in terms of lighting technology.
