After the rise of Finn Juhl on the American design scene around 1950, he is inspired more and more by his American colleagues - Charles Eames at the top. Until then, wood was first and foremost his favorite material, but he began to experiment with steel little by little.

This simplicity with its straight lines has become evident in its designs of furniture pieces. These drawings, with their tinted steel frame and wooden feet, were Juhl's response to the critics saying that his design were too artsy and sculptural.

Wood veneer:
