Kaari table was born from the collaboration of the designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and the finnish editor Artek.
The two designers elaborated a structural element wich is automatically used in the conception of the furnitures making part of the Kaari collection, the vertical load is supported by a wooden part and bent steel bending is providing diagonal support.
This singular and original construction for the table legs brings a light apearance and a distinctive line with transparancy and elegance. A tribute to the legacy of Alvar Aalto, co-fundor of Artek, wich had decades before, created a similar structural and recognisable element, systematically used for a variety of chairs, stools, tables and containers : The L leg in bended wood.
The Kaari collection is declined in a large range of elements such as round or rectangular tables, desks, wall console and different sizes of shelves, always with the arch (Kaari in Finnish) as the central and supporting element.
Kaari round table is offered in various finishes, the base comes in natural oak or black oak , and a variety of linoleum or laminated hpl tabletop.
