Treatment wood furniture
1. In general
Solid wood is a living material that is exposed to sunlight and humidity. The ideal relative humidity is between 40 and 50%. A moisture content of less than 35% increased risk of the appearance of cracks in the wood.
Solid wood tables suffer from direct exposure to sunlight, and should not be placed near a stove or a radiator. These factors contribute to a very low humidity, and a few hours of exposure sufficient to cause cracks in the table.
Wood is a natural product. This is why it may appear some color variations (which are the traces left by the growth of the tree), and also visible marks on the finished product. In addition, the wood will turn into beautifying themselves, when it is kept (maintained) and exposed to light. The light is on wood, so the wood matures, and do not place over an extended period decorative objects on a new table, as they may cause unwanted color tasks during maturation.
We hope you take as much care of your new furniture as we did in our next maintenance tips.
The surface is protected by the action of soap flakes. Mix 1/4 dl (0.25 dl) of soap flakes in 1 L (10dl) hot water. The soap will dissolve in hot water after 24 hours: let the mixture sit for about a day, or until the solution is greasy, and apply with a sponge or cloth. (The solution can be kept cool) Then wipe the cabinet to remove excess soap. Regular treatment will increase the natural resistance of the surface. For everyday care, use a cloth wrung out in a solution (dissolution) of soap. Bags of soap are always included in delivery of the unit, in this case, please contact us to order.
The oiled surface is treated with linseed oil at the end of the manufacturing process. Before treating the surface with linseed oil, if necessary clean with soap and water, and sand the surface using sandpaper (eg # 220) if the timber is damaged. (Shocks, scratches, stains) Soak the oil on a clean white cloth and apply on the furniture (kneading). Let the wood soak for 15 minutes and wipe the excess oil that remained on the surface thoroughly with another clean, dry cloth. Simultaneous dual action sandpaper and application of oil on wood, can more easily removed by the scratches made to wet the surface of the oil in the direction of the length of the wood grain . (There are sponges sides with sandpaper, contact us). Linseed oil is not always included in the delivery of furniture, danc this case, please contact us to order.
For your safety:
Note please that rags soaked in oil are highly flammable and must be stored in an airtight closed.
Treat more often Chants (slice of wood perpendicular to the direction of the veins), for furniture soaped and oiled
In the dry season (winter), the edges should be treated more often to avoid drying and cracking effect.
4. Under the table
Uneven moisture from the face above and below the wooden tray can cause unnecessary cracks and imbalances in it, which is why we recommend that you treat both above and below.
If the fibers of the wood are lifted or cracked, sand in the direction of the length of the wood grain with sandpaper, or 240 grains of densité180 (never sand in the direction perpendicular veins, causing scratches) .
Never use steel wool! (Wire)
Treatment of leather furniture
1. In general
Leather is a natural material. Therefore, the finished leather is marked by visible signs, which are other events that have affected the animal throughout its life. A "stretch" correct leather guarantee an optimal time and preserves the natural strength of leather. In use, it is normal for leather "stretch" moves, stretches and relaxes.
These qualities emphasize the uniqueness and elegance of leather. By following the tips below, the leather is aging with more grace and maturity over the years.
2. General Cleaning
For general cleaning, wipe with a soft, clean cloth. When the furniture is a bit dirty, wipe with a soft, clean cloth dampened with distilled water (or cold water that was originally boiled).
For 100% analine leathers, where surface has not been protected by a lacquer, the entire surface must be cleaned in a quick movement to avoid tasks.
Do not vacuum directly on the leather, as it may scratch the surface.
3. Thorough cleaning
For thorough cleaning, wipe the entire surface with a clean soft cloth moistened with soapy water, obtained by dissolving the soap flakes in bag (use only specially prepared soap flakes), 1/4 dl flakes soap in 1 quart of warm water. Any spills should be removed (wiped) away to avoid any tasks.
Dishwashing liquid, solvents and other aggressive cleaning agents must never be used on leather products. Cream leather or leather oil should only be used when absolutely necessary, as it may cause staining or discoloration. Cream leather or leather oil should never be used on unprotected leather, 100% alanine.
