Alvar Aalto design for Artek, 1933-35.
This series of Aalto tables features the famous L-shaped legs, characteristic of Alvar Aalto’s designs.
The manufacturing process of the legs required many years of research on the possibilities of glue-laminated wood. Alvar Aalto managed to develop an innovative method, allowing him to achieve 90° curves, by inserting slats of plywood into longitudinal grooves placed where the wood was to be bent, before it was glued. The strength and flexibility of the wood then allowed Alvar Aalto to create the perfectly curved legs of the Aalto Table 80.
The different finishes available give the choice between a modern or more natural looking table.
The solid structure of the table guarantees a long lifetime.
Table top in birch veneer, white laminate or black linoleum.
