The asymmetrical waves of design pioneer Alvar Aalto won the 1937 Paris World Fair.

In the decades that followed, they became an icon of Scandinavian interior design. Inspired by the thousands of lakes in his native Finland, Aalto's waves combine function and sculpture.

Each Aalto vase undergoes a multi-stage production process at the Iittala glassworks. The vase is first mouth-blown, then hand-cut and polished several times. 

The tall vase is ideal for long-stemmed glass vases and makes a perfect gift.
