Design Vilhelm Lauritzen, 1956

Vilhelm Lauritzen, the renowned functionalist architect, designed VL 56 suspension for Folkets Hus in Vesterbro Copenhagen. Originally designed and built for a Danish trade union, the building opened in 1956 and is now used as a concert hall named Vega .

The VL 56 suspension still hangs over the wooden-panelled bar next to the concert hall. 

With a bold but never overpowering approach, the VL56 is a lighting piece rich in character that will effortlessly enhance any environment. Featuring a vertical lamp that emits downward-facing light, the light source features a perforated glow, producing a soft yet highly focused effect.
