Design Poul Kjærholm, 1955

Poul Kjærholm's very first dining chair - the light, elegant and comfortable PK1 - was designed in 1955.

It takes a skilled craftsman 15 hours and 180 metres of paper cord to weave the PK1 seat.

The intricate weaving technique, which looks as good from the front as it does from the back, was specially developed for the PK1, and the inspiration behind the technique came from Kjærholm's original work with peddig pipes.

The chair stacks up to 4 high and is suitable for both private and public use.
