PK54 TABLE
Design Poul Kjaerholm, 1963
The PK54 dining table is an encounter between two geometric shapes: the square and the circle. The table becomes a true sculpture through the elegance and purity of its lines. Poul Kjaerholm has also combined two materials together: the base is in satin brushed stainless steel and its top in marble or granite.

The PK54 dining table is an encounter between two geometric shapes: the square and the circle. The table becomes a true sculpture through the elegance and purity of its lines. Poul Kjaerholm has also combined two materials together: the base is in satin brushed stainless steel and its top in marble or granite. We can see the exceptional work of Kjaerholm who had a particular interest in different construction materials, especially steel, which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials.
What is special about the table is its maple wood extension ring consisting of 6 parts which interlink with the table, which offers an original solution to enlarge the table when welcoming guests. Stone meets wood, hard meets soft and the table completely changes appearance without loosing its identity, when the concentric wooden leaves are applied to the table. This extension system is unique and recognizable as a Poul Kjaerholm's design. A storage rack is included and allows to store aesthetically the 6 extensions on the floor.
