In 2011, DK3 launched the Tree Table. To emphasize the concept of combining wild wood and minimalist design, dk3 founder and designer Jacob Plejdrup chose to use whole planks of solid wood with natural, hand-sanded edges, and thus a new classic plank table was born.

Design Jacob Plejdrup, 2011

The Tree Table is a perfectly balanced natural design. Above the simple steel construction are handcrafted planks of solid wood, shaped by nature. This table combines true craftsmanship with innovative engineering, and the result is visually striking.

Made from oak, the Tree Table is always composed of two whole planks taken from the same tree trunk. Each plank has a unique shape and structure, containing various natural features such as knots and small cracks, and the natural edges are delicately sanded by hand. Each Tree Table is individually numbered, and a discreet plaque on the edge of the table bears witness to the table's originality.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Unlike the usual solid wood tables, the Tree table is made of extremely wide boards, which are prone to cracking, particularly in winter and especially at the ends of the boards. In addition, the boards can warp and, although they are always made from the same tree, there will in most cases be differences between the two boards.
