Piet Hein was, in fact, a polymath, whose studies ranged from mathematics to architecture to poetry. He went on to use the harmonious elliptical form in many other works, such as the seat and back of the Piet Hein chairs.
The No 7 coffee table is inspired by the unique curves of the backrest of Helge Sibast's 1953 Sibast No 7 chair. The same shape is used to mold the table's two-legged foundation.
The Poetry Rug designed by Maja Johansson Starander with an expression of passionate weaving. Poetry is rug shifting from dark earthy tones to lighter tones. The pattern is reminiscent of building blocks but also holds a history of knowledge and great craftsmanship.
In their archives, Kasthall collect samples of thousands of patterns that have been tested over the years. In 2015, designer Maja Johansson Starander rediscovered and reinterpreted a pattern that had been preserved since the 1960s.
The result is Muse, a modern retro classic woven in 100% wool.
