Design Claesson Koivisto Rune, 2002
The irregular stripes are dyed using willow bark. Made from paper yarn, the rug combines the soft tones of the willow colour with the neutral base colour. The collection also includes Woodnotes' signature black-natural colour combination.
The use of willow as a natural dye is an ancient and well-known technique, but ecological dyeing is constantly developing to meet the needs and standards of the modern world, so that one day, hopefully, natural dyes will be able to replace synthetic dyes.
For Woodnotes, the use of willow dye is particularly inherent, as the carpet material itself is spun from wood. The rugs are woven from plant fibres and contain no animal-derived finishing materials, so they are 100% vegan.
