Nanna & Jorgen Ditzel design, 1959.
Nanna Ditzel is among the renown danish designers, she first studies at The Arts and Crafts College of Copenhagen in the late 40's where she meets her future husband Jorgen. Together they open their own studio were they will concieve the hanging Egg chair, among other creations.
In between the traditionnal crafted basket and a minimalist shape, the Egg Hanging chair, harmoniusly associates a traditional and warm material as is the rattan with contemporary design.
True danish icon, the hanging Egg chair is as unique and sophisticated as it is functional. Its ergonomic shell is garnished with a removable cushion , and as a cocoon procures a feeling of proctection, comfort and freedom.
The shell is made of natural braided rattan on a steel stucture hanging on a chain, sculptural and light at the same time it naturaly flotes in the room.
The hanging Egg chair is offered in 2 versions, indoor and outdoor in 2 different shades at choice.
