Design Finn Juhl, 1957

Even with this simple construction, Finn Juhl remains true to his idea of emphasising the difference between load-bearing and supporting elements by separating the backrest from the supporting frame using brass brackets. 

The solid horizontal backrest, resting on slightly tapering legs, is reminiscent of a Japanese temple door. The backrest ends in a circular recess that gives an impression of optical refinement to great effect. It's totally typical of Finn Juhl, who said the deviation is in the detail.

3-seater: W 180 cm x D 70 cm x H 78 cm - seat 35 cm

Oak or Walnut 

Finish:

Walnut oiled or Oak oiled and with a wide choice of fabrics and leathers for the 2-seater sofa and fabrics for the 3-seater sofa.

The Japon series is also available as an armchair and footrest.
