Hans J. Wegner design, 1950.
The flag chair is an allusion to the first modernists such as La Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer. The designer, Hans Wegner, originally a cabinet-maker proves with the steel frame of the chair, that he not only masters wood, but is also perfectly comfortable with modern chromed steel designs.
The Flag chair is made from 240 continuous meters of flag line. The flag line is made out of natural flax plaited around a core of static inlay strong enough to avoid unnecessary stretching over time. It takes a qualified craftsman approximately 14 hours to prepare the flagline and plait the chair. Available in natural flax or dyed black.
The mixed color longhaired sheepskin included softens the industrial look of the steel, and adds extra comfort.
The headrest is available in fabrix or leather, for a beautiful finish.
