The Johanna woollen rug from LAYERED has been designed as a tribute to Swedish craftsmanship, and in particular to female textile artists. In 20th century Sweden, female entrepreneurship was not yet commonplace, but female textile artists created many masterpieces over the course of the century. With the Johanna rug, LAYERED wants to prove that a carefully crafted rug will never go out of fashion and that its beauty will stand the test of time.

The Groove series was created on the basic principle of letting the natural beauty of solid wood play a major role, highlighting the unique details of the design. Details that have been fine-tuned and refined throughout the design process, and created with as much passion as precision. For example, the grooves on the table edge are created using a special custom milling head invented and manufactured by Christian Troels.

Flock evokes a strong connection with the sheep that provide the wool for its construction. During the crafting process for the rug, coloured flocks of wool are randomly spun by hand to create richly voluminous, irregular weft yarns. This ensures that, like individual sheep, every rug has an individual colour expression. Flock comes in five colourways, which unite natural wool tones with hues that reference the pigments used to mark sheep.

Lavo is a handmade Persian knotted rug, reminiscent of the reflection of light on a soft, colourful surface. Characterised by a changing depth of colour, it derives its vibrancy and understated lustre from the combination of dyeing and a double wash finish. A soft, hand-brushed hairy edge adds an extra dimension of tactility to the design.

Design Poul Kjaerholm, 1963

The PK54 dining table is an encounter between two geometric shapes: the square and the circle. The table becomes a true sculpture through the elegance and purity of its lines. Poul Kjaerholm has also combined two materials together: the base is in satin brushed stainless steel and its top in marble or granite.

Hans J. Wegner design by Carl Hansen, 1960. Beautiful dining room table which can also be used as a conference room table thanks to its optional extending leaves. The subtle mixture of wood and steel, typical of Wegner’s creations, brings a modern touch to the natural looking structure and its simple and elegant design allows it to blend into modern or traditional environments.
